This post is about how CBC NORTH IS THE AWESOMEST.

Okay, that may be a bit over the top, but it is the way I felt a few days ago.

This time last week, I was pretty annoyed with CBC North, especially @CBCNorth, their Twitter personality.

Last week, if you were following @CBCNorth, you were receiving a continuous stream of re-tweets, or, if you’re less generous, spam:

And sometimes:

You’re annoyed, right? You want to stop reading my blog right now, don’t you? I mean, you felt that way before you got here, but now you feel that way even MORE, right? Yeah, that’s how we all felt last week. So I decided to start spamming them back. I get a lot of spam, so it wasn’t hard.

And then…it stopped. Yes. Thank goodness.

I’m not convinced that they are monitoring their replies, but at least they’ve stopped spamming us. As a next step, I would like to encourage them to keep an eye on what people say to them on Twitter. That way, they could make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Thanks, @CBCNorth. We all appreciate it. I guess I’ll just have to delete all of this spam mail now.

That’s annoying but here in Inuvik, we have to actually LISTEN to the crap that comes out over their airwaves.
No, that isn’t four cats in a gunny sack fighting, it’s fiddle music — ALL AFTERNOON LONG!
No, that isn’t a stuffed-up pre-teen spelling bee champ, it’s the morning show host.
No, that isn’t Kevin O’Reilly or Dennis Bevington’s press agent, it’s Lee “Geraldo” Selleck, our star reporter!
Have you ever heard CBC radio in Whitehorse? Strange as it may seem, it almost sounds like a REAL radio station. Music people like to hear, announcers who can read and reporters who actually report!
